What it does

Stops whatever you are casting, then casts Counterspell on your focus if it is a living enemy, otherwise on your target.

How to use

Press it the moment the healer (your focus) or a dungeon caster starts a heal or a dangerous spell, even mid-Frostbolt.

How it works

  1. #showtooltip Counterspell
    • The button shows Counterspell: its icon, cooldown and tooltip
  2. /stopcasting
    • Stop the spell you are casting, so the next line goes off at once
  3. /cast [@focus,harm,nodead][] Counterspell
    • Option 1:Cast Counterspell · On: Your focusWhen:It is an enemyIt is alive
    • Otherwise:Cast Counterspell · On: Your target, or the game's normal targeting

How to add a macro in the game
  1. Type /macro in the chat box and press Enter, or open the game menu and choose Macros.
  2. Choose New. Give the macro a name and pick the question-mark icon: with #showtooltip the button then shows the spell it casts.
  3. On this page, choose a macro and press Copy Macro.
  4. Click into the macro window's text box and paste (Ctrl+V, or ⌘V on a Mac).
  5. Drag the macro's icon from the window onto an action bar.

General Macros are shared by all your characters on the account; Character Specific Macros belong to one character. Class macros belong in the character tab.
