Honor and Rank Points
Honor is a currency earned from defeating players, completing battlegrounds and PvP quests. Blizzard reviewed Honor gains so every battleground pays out more evenly, rather than Alterac Valley being the obvious choice.
Rank Points come from battlegrounds and PvP quests and raise your rank toward Grand Marshal or High Warlord. Ranks have a weekly cap. Battlegrounds featured in their holiday week give more Honor and Rank Points.
Gear
Honor buys two sets of PvP gear: a blue set and an epic set. An epic piece is the blue piece upgraded with an Emboldened Seal, and each seal needs a rank. New sets fill gaps for specializations, such as healer, melee and caster sets for shamans.
Seasons
Each PvP season has a journey of weekly tasks that grant Honor and Rank Points; three of them also grant a Legacy Point. The tasks stay available in later seasons. Your rank, Rank Points and the rewards you can buy are on the Player vs. Player tab of the character pane (C).
