WoW Forever AoE Leveling — Guides · WoW Forever

AoE leveling means pulling a whole group of enemies, keeping them together and killing them at once instead of one at a time. It needs a class whose spells slow, root or hold many enemies and hit them all, the talents that make those spells cheap and safe, and a place where weak enemies without spells stand close together. Each guide below gives the build at every stage, the pull step by step and the spots that suit it.

Class guides

The other classes level faster on one or two enemies at a time. Their guides: Leveling builds · Leveling guide

AoE farming spots

Spots where enemies without spells stand close enough to pull together, by level. Each shows its area on the World Map, its creatures, what a kill is worth and how to work it.

EasyClassic data, not yet confirmed in Forever

    • Torn Fin CoastrunnerLevels 29–30 · 28 spawns
    • Torn Fin MuckdwellerLevels 28–29 · 19 spawns

    Pros

    • Melee only: every murloc follows you into the Blizzard
    • Open beach with room to kite
    • Clams and fish oil add a little vendor value

    Cons

    • Murlocs move fast and call friends, so pulls grow by themselves
    • Low money per kill
    Requires:
Blizzard, Frost Nova and Cone of Cold; Improved Blizzard makes the pulls safe.
    Competition:
A common Horde and Alliance leveling coast: other players thin the packs at busy times.
How to farm it, step by step
    1. 1.Where to stand: Start at one end of the strand with open sand behind you, so you can walk back while channeling.
    2. 2.Pull: Run along the waterline through the Coastrunners and Muckdwellers until four to eight are following you.
    3. 3.Group them up: Turn and walk back the way you came so they line up behind you; turn to face them once they are within a few yards of each other.
    4. 4.Abilities: Frost Nova as they bunch up, step out of melee range, then channel Blizzard over the pack; Improved Blizzard and Permafrost keep them crawling through it. Cone of Cold and a second Frost Nova (after its cooldown or Cold Snap) cover the last seconds. At these levels, a lower Blizzard rank costs less mana for the same slow.
    5. 5.Kite: If the Nova breaks early, walk back along the open beach and Cone of Cold the front of the pack before channeling again.
    6. 6.Finish: Arcane Explosion or a last Cone of Cold finishes murlocs below a quarter of their health.
    7. 7.Recover: Drink conjured water and eat between pulls; save Evocation and a mana gem for a pull that runs long. Rebuff Frost or Ice Armor and Ice Barrier before the next pull.
    8. 8.Avoid: Torn Fin Oracles and Tidehunters further east along the coast cast spells; keep the pull to the melee murlocs here.

    • Dabyrie LaborerLevels 30–31 · 26 spawns
    • Dabyrie MilitiaLevels 31–32 · 9 spawns

    Pros

    • Open fields with long sight lines
    • Melee only
    • Silk cloth on about 30% of kills

    Cons

    • Respawn is slower here (about 6½ minutes)
    • Militia hit a little harder than the laborers
    Requires:
Improved Blizzard; Arctic Reach helps cover the field.
How to farm it, step by step
    1. 1.Where to stand: Start on the field's edge furthest from the farmhouse so the pull walks away from the buildings.
    2. 2.Pull: Run through the laborers in the fields until five to eight follow you.
    3. 3.Group them up: Loop once around the edge of the field to bunch them, then face the pack.
    4. 4.Abilities: Frost Nova as they bunch up, step out of melee range, then channel Blizzard over the pack; Improved Blizzard and Permafrost keep them crawling through it. Cone of Cold and a second Frost Nova (after its cooldown or Cold Snap) cover the last seconds.
    5. 5.Kite: Kite along the open field; fence lines and the farmhouse are the only obstacles.
    6. 6.Finish: Arcane Explosion when they reach you at low health.
    7. 7.Recover: Drink conjured water and eat between pulls; save Evocation and a mana gem for a pull that runs long. Rebuff Frost or Ice Armor and Ice Barrier before the next pull.
    8. 8.Avoid: Nothing else hostile stands in the farm; just keep pulls away from the buildings so you don't snag a second group.

    Pros

    • Melee humanoids: silk cloth and coin on every kill
    • Close to Southshore and Tarren Mill for selling

    Cons

    • Only about a dozen spawns in the area, so a full clear needs a short wait
    • Pulls can drag in the drunken footpads nearby
    Requires:
Improved Blizzard and Frost Nova; a small camp suits pulls of four to six.
How to farm it, step by step
    1. 1.Where to stand: Approach from the open ground beside the camp rather than through its buildings.
    2. 2.Pull: Body-pull the Thieves and Footpads one tent at a time until four to six follow you.
    3. 3.Group them up: Lead them out of the camp onto open ground and let them gather behind you.
    4. 4.Abilities: Frost Nova as they bunch up, step out of melee range, then channel Blizzard over the pack; Improved Blizzard and Permafrost keep them crawling through it. Cone of Cold and a second Frost Nova (after its cooldown or Cold Snap) cover the last seconds.

    6. 6.Finish: Cone of Cold or Arcane Explosion on the last few.
    7. 7.Recover: Drink conjured water and eat between pulls; save Evocation and a mana gem for a pull that runs long. Rebuff Frost or Ice Armor and Ice Barrier before the next pull.
    8. 8.Avoid: Drunken Footpads wander the camp and join pulls; take them into the pack only if you have mana for them.

    Cons

    • Screechers, crocolisks and spiders share the area and wander into pulls
    Requires:
Improved Blizzard and Permafrost: raptors are fast.
How to farm it, step by step
    1. 1.Where to stand: Keep to the dry ground between the pools: water slows you and not the raptors.
    2. 2.Pull: Tag raptors one at a time as you run past, aiming for four to six.
    3. 3.Group them up: Raptors run fast, so turn and Frost Nova as soon as the last one closes in.
    4. 4.Abilities: Frost Nova as they bunch up, step out of melee range, then channel Blizzard over the pack; Improved Blizzard and Permafrost keep them crawling through it. Cone of Cold and a second Frost Nova (after its cooldown or Cold Snap) cover the last seconds.

    • Good vendor value: stone pieces sell for several silver

    Cons

    • No coin
    • Spread over a wide area
    Requires:
Frost spells (they resist nothing frost-related); paladins with Consecration and a shield can tank them too.
    Value:
Elemental Earth is a reagent for six professions; its auction price depends on your realm. The stones' vendor value adds up on its own.
How to farm it, step by step
    1. 1.Where to stand: Work the open ground in the south of the zone; the elementals stand apart, so plan a loop.
    2. 2.Pull: Aggro three to five elementals as you run between them.

How to farm it, step by step
    1. 1.Where to stand: Work the open desert between the hives, away from the elite guards.
    2. 2.Pull: Gather three to five stormers as you run between them.
    3. 3.Group them up: Let them bunch behind you.
    4. 4.Abilities: Frost Nova as they bunch up, step out of melee range, then channel Blizzard over the pack; Improved Blizzard and Permafrost keep them crawling through it. Cone of Cold and a second Frost Nova (after its cooldown or Cold Snap) cover the last seconds.
    5. 5.Kite: Kite through open desert away from the hives.
    6. 6.Finish: Arcane Explosion.
    7. 7.Recover: Drink conjured water and eat between pulls; save Evocation and a mana gem for a pull that runs long. Rebuff Frost or Ice Armor and Ice Barrier before the next pull.
    8. 8.Avoid: Supreme Silithid Flayers and Anubisath Warbringers (elite) and Major Resonating Crystals guard the hives; Twilight Avengers and Desert Rumblers wander in.
