Overview
In a hidden valley of the Alterac Mountains, the Frostwolf orcs and the dwarves of the Stormpike Expedition wage war. Two armies of forty fight through towers, graveyards and mines to reach the enemy general.
- Objective
- Push down the valley, take graveyards and burn towers, and kill the enemy general: Vanndar Stormpike in Dun Baldar or Drek'Thar in Frostwolf Keep.
- How to win
- Killing the enemy general wins the battle.
How to get there
Head to the Hillsbrad Foothills: the Alliance portal is north of Southshore and the Horde portal northeast of Tarren Mill. Battlemasters in the capitals queue you too.

Objectives
- Towers and bunkers: capture them, then defend them until they burn. Each destroyed tower gives bonus Honor.
- Graveyards: taking one moves where your team revives.
- Mines: held at the end, they give bonus Honor.
- Captains guard the Stonehearth Outpost (Alliance) and the Iceblood Garrison (Horde).
- Player corpses drop items for Alterac Valley's quests; most quest loot disappears when you leave.
Tips
- Bonus Honor rewards objectives along the way: killing the Captain, Lieutenants and Commanders, burning towers, and holding towers, graveyards and mines at the end.
- Keeping your own Captain alive until the end is worth bonus Honor too.
- Shorter games award less bonus Honor for mines, graveyards and the general kill.
- Reputation comes from enemy deaths you took part in, so stay in the fight.
