How Camping Works in WoW Forever: Campfires, Camp Features and Their Buffs
In WoW Forever, the humble Cooking Fire grows into a campsite. Blizzard's Camping overview of October 21 explains how a Basic Campfire holds up to three camp features made by other professions, how a minute by the fire earns their buffs, and which class buffs each one stands in for. Here is how the system works, every feature Blizzard listed, and where the game client differs.

From Cooking Fire to campsite
Camping turns the Cooking profession's simple Cooking Fire into a Basic Campfire, which a cook can build from skill 1. Once it burns, nearby players can add camp features, objects crafted with their own professions: up to three on a Basic Campfire, one per player. A short quest early in the game introduces the system.
To collect the buffs, sit or craft at the campsite for at least one minute. You then gain the benefits of the other camp features there, and they last an hour after you leave. Every camp feature needs a campfire nearby, and all of them share a one-hour cooldown, so each player places one feature an hour.
Cooks later learn bigger campfires that hold five and then 10 features; setting them up takes Cooking 140 and 220.
Every camp feature Blizzard listed
Each profession's first camp feature needs skill 20 and comes from a starting-zone quest or the profession trainer. Features that need skill 140 or more drop in dungeons and raids. The buffs are versions of class buffs and don't stack with them.
| Profession | Camp feature | Effect | Doesn't stack with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cooking | Basic Campfire | Lets you cook and holds up to 3 camp features | — |
| First Aid | First Aid Kit | 3–56 Stamina | |
| Fishing | Fishing Bowl | 8% all stats | |
| Alchemy | Mana Well | 10–29 Mana every 5 seconds | |
| Blacksmithing | Sharpening Wheel | 6–34 Strength | |
| Enchanting | Enchanted Lute | 28–260 Armor, up to 13 all stats and up to 22 all resistances | |
| Engineering | Reagent Bot | Sells reagents to you and players nearby | — |
| Herbalism | Incense Candle | 2–25 Intellect | |
| Leatherworking | Camp Tent | Rested experience worth 5% of a level, unless you already have more | — |
| Skinning | Camp Chair | 2% critical strike chance with spells and attacks | |
| Tailoring | Faction Banner | 14–32 Spirit, for your own faction |
Ranges depend on your level. The game client differs from Blizzard's table in two places: the Enchanted Lute's Armor reaches 308 at level 60, not 260, and Mining, which the table leaves out, has a camp feature too. The Lodestone gives 12–90 Attack Power and doesn't stack with
Blessing of Might.
Workstations and conveniences
Not every camp feature is a buff. Blizzard names Alchemy Laboratories and Tanning Racks among the conveniences that higher-level professions unlock, and the Engineer's Reagent Bot already works as a small vendor. Our Camping page lists every feature in the game, with the skill it needs and its buff at each level.
Choose your campsite carefully
Blizzard pitches Camping as a reason to travel at your own pace instead of rushing between capital cities, and as a way to meet people: a shared fire is a chance to trade, group up or find new friends. But a camp is still out in the world. Some places suit a quiet rest better than others, danger can find you while you sit, and on a PvP ruleset an enemy group that spots your fire is a real risk.
Making the most of it
- Take your professions to 20 early. That unlocks each one's first camp feature.
- A cook makes the camp. Without a campfire there is nowhere to place features, so a group with a cook can set up anywhere.
- Fill your group's gaps. With three slots and one feature per player each hour, pick the buffs your classes don't bring: a party without a priest gains most from a First Aid Kit, one without a paladin from a Fishing Bowl.
- Leatherworkers help everyone level. The Camp Tent tops up rested experience, which no class buff does.
