Frost Mage AoE Leveling — AoE Leveling · WoW Wrath of the Lich King

In Wrath of the Lich King the frost mage keeps its Blizzard pull and gains tools that make it safer: Fingers of Frost and Brain Freeze for instant follow-ups, Deep Freeze to stun, and a Water Elemental from level 50. Northrend's herds of shoveltusks, stags and crocolisks are dense and melee-only, ideal for gathering and freezing.

Mages still kill the most enemies per pull, and Northrend's beast herds are among the densest in the game.

Strengths

  • Fast kills on dense herds
  • Many escapes: Ice Block, Blink, Frost Nova, the elemental's Freeze
  • Vendor parts from Northrend beasts sell well

Weaknesses

  • Questing is also fast in Northrend, so AoE is a choice, not a must
  • Casters break the technique
  • Mana between pulls
