How the warrior plays
Warriors in WoW Forever keep Classic's Rage, stances and level 60 cap, with a reworked set of talents. Critical strikes now give more Rage, Victory Rush heals you after a kill from level 20, and Slam is trained rather than a talent tweak.
Arms replaces the four weapon specializations with Weaponmaster, a single talent whose bonus depends on the weapon in your hands: crit for axes and polearms, armour penetration for maces and staves, extra attacks for swords. Protection gains Bastion, which raises all your damage while a shield is equipped, and Vanguard, which lets you Charge in Defensive Stance.
Warriors still can't heal themselves much or drink mid-fight, so they rely on healers, bandages and food, and they remain the group's natural tank and its strongest melee damage.
Strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
- Victory Rush and Gore Drinker give warriors more healing of their own than in Classic.
- Strong melee damage that grows with gear.
- Protection is a full tank with Shield Wall, Last Stand and Taunt.
- Charge, Intercept and Hamstring keep you on a target.
Weaknesses
- Still gear-dependent: low gear means little Rage.
- Casters can kite you.
- Changing stance costs Rage.
