Protection Paladin AoE Leveling — AoE Leveling · WoW Wrath of the Lich King

Wrath of the Lich King made the protection paladin one of the strongest AoE characters in the game: Avenger's Shield pulls and silences, Consecration and Hammer of the Righteous hit everything around you, Holy Shield punishes every block, and Blessing of Sanctuary and Divine Plea keep mana flowing. Gather a pack, stand in it and keep your cooldowns rolling.

From Holy Shield at 40 the paladin can stand in large packs and kill them all at once with little downtime, and the build is the same one raid tanks use at 80.

Strengths

  • No kiting: stand in the pack
  • Strong mana return from Divine Plea at 71
  • Extremely hard to kill

Weaknesses

  • Slower burst than a mage
  • Needs a shield and tank gear
