Replace the highlighted words with your own before copying.

What it does

Dismounts you if you are mounted. Otherwise it summons your flying mount in zones where you can fly and your ground mount in the rest.

How to use

Replace both placeholders with your mounts' names, then use the one key everywhere.

Requirements

  • From level 1

Nothing beyond the spells in the macro.

How it works

  1. #showtooltip
    • The button shows whatever the macro will cast: its icon, cooldown and tooltip
  2. /dismount [mounted]
    • Get off your mountWhen:You are mounted
  3. /stopmacro [mounted]
    • Stop the macro here; the lines below don't runWhen:You are mounted
  4. /use [flyable] <<Flying mount>>; <<Ground mount>>
    • Option 1:Use <<Flying mount>>When:You can fly here
    • Otherwise:Use <<Ground mount>>

Limitations

  • The game's flyable check doesn't know every no-flying area (cities, some zones and areas need a riding skill or have their own rules), so you may get the flying mount where it can't take off.

How to add a macro in the game
  1. Type /macro in the chat box and press Enter, or open the game menu and choose Macros.
  2. Choose New. Give the macro a name and pick the question-mark icon: with #showtooltip the button then shows the spell it casts.
  3. On this page, choose a macro and press Copy Macro.
  4. Click into the macro window's text box and paste (Ctrl+V, or ⌘V on a Mac).
  5. Drag the macro's icon from the window onto an action bar.

General Macros are shared by all your characters on the account; Character Specific Macros belong to one character. Class macros belong in the character tab.
