Final racial pass before launch

Published: 9 changes

A final pass on racials before launch: Ruthless and Wind Blessed are reduced, The Human Spirit doubles, Dwarves trade Earth Fury for Artisan's Precision, Orcs get Command back instead of Savage, Tauren Endurance keeps only its Health bonus, and Plainsrunning, Read Leyline and Skysight are reworked.

Racials

  • Change: Weapon specialization racials will not return: Blizzard says future raid and dungeon loot shouldn't be judged by "required" weapon types. Class- and role-focused racials replaced on October 15 are partly restored, and the remaining passive bonuses are retuned.
  • Change: Human: Ruthless now increases critical strike chance by 1% (was 2%); The Human Spirit now increases Spirit by 10% (was 5%).
  • Change: Dwarf: Earth Fury (2% critical damage and healing) is removed. New: Artisan's Precision increases hit chance with spells and attacks by 1%.
  • Change: Tauren: Plainsrunning now grants 2% movement speed per stack (was 1%), up to 60% (was 30%), but no longer increases mounted speed.
  • Nerf: Tauren: Endurance now only increases Health by 5%; its critical damage and healing bonus is removed.
  • Change: Orc: Savage (1% critical strike chance) is removed, and Command returns: Hunter and Warlock pets deal 5% more damage.
  • Nerf: Skyborne: Wind Blessed haste drops to 2% (was 3%).
  • Change: Skyborne: Read Leyline now increases Health and Mana regeneration by 50% (was 100%) for 15 seconds and can't be used while Innervate is active. Using it at a Ley Line also grants Attuned for 1 hour, raising the bonus to 100%; Attuned persists through death.
  • Change: Skyborne: Skysight now increases movement speed by 15% (was 10%) for 15 seconds. Using it at an elemental convergence also grants Charged for 1 hour, raising the bonus to 30%; Charged persists through death.

Published October 26 UTC in the beta development notes thread, after the beta closed on October 23. The post states neither a client build nor a release date; the changes are announced ahead of the November 4 launch.
