The weekly calculation
At the weekly reset your week's Honor becomes CP, and the CP give your expected rank. If it is higher than your current rank, you are awarded, for each rank above yours up to the expected rank and at most four, that rank's CP step multiplied by its change factor. A rank is reached when your CP total reaches its threshold.
If your expected rank isn't higher than your current rank, your progress decays instead. Blizzard hasn't published how much.
Blizzard's examples
- Rank 4 and 50,000 Honor: about 20,769 CP, so the expected rank is 6. Award: 5,000 × 0.8 + 5,000 × 0.8 = 8,000 CP, which reaches Rank 5.
- Rank 2 and 500,000 Honor: 65,000 CP and an expected Rank 14, but at most four ranks pay out: 3,000 × 1.0 + 5,000 × 0.8 × 3 = 15,000 CP, which reaches Rank 5.
Frequently asked questions
- How many ranks can I gain in one week?
- Your award covers at most four rank steps above your current rank, and higher ranks pay less of each step, so a week usually moves you fewer ranks than that.
- What do I need for Rank 1?
- At least 15 honorable kills.
- Can I still lose a rank?
- Only through dishonorable kills while at the low end of a rank without enough Honor to offset them.
