GeneralUtilityChecked against game data

Enter Macro Commands:

/equipslot 16 <<Main-hand weapon>>
/equipslot 17 <<Off-hand item>>
66/255 Characters Used

Replace the highlighted words with your own before copying.

What it does

Puts the named weapon in your main hand (slot 16) and the named item in your off hand (slot 17).

How to use

Replace the placeholders with the items' exact names. Make one macro per set you switch between, such as two-hander and one-hander with shield.

Requirements

  • From level 1

Nothing beyond the spells in the macro.

How it works

  1. /equipslot 16 <<Main-hand weapon>>
    • Equip <<Main-hand weapon>> in slot 16
  2. /equipslot 17 <<Off-hand item>>
    • Equip <<Off-hand item>> in slot 17

Limitations

  • To equip a two-handed weapon, keep only the first line.
  • Weapons can be swapped in combat, armor can't; a swap restarts your swing timer.

How to add a macro in the game
  1. Type /macro in the chat box and press Enter, or open the game menu and choose Macros.
  2. Choose New. Give the macro a name and pick the question-mark icon: with #showtooltip the button then shows the spell it casts.
  3. On this page, choose a macro and press Copy Macro.
  4. Click into the macro window's text box and paste (Ctrl+V, or ⌘V on a Mac).
  5. Drag the macro's icon from the window onto an action bar.

General Macros are shared by all your characters on the account; Character Specific Macros belong to one character. Class macros belong in the character tab.
