Discipline Priest Guide — Class Guides · WoW Classic

Mana efficiency, stronger shields and buffs, and Power Infusion: healing that wastes little.

A cloth-wearing healer who also deals Shadow damage. Priests heal single targets and groups, shield allies with Power Word: Shield and fight with Shadow Word: Pain and Mind Blast. More about the priest

How to play

Discipline is the priest's support tree. Power Infusion gives a caster more spell damage and cheaper spells, Divine Spirit raises a group's Spirit, Inner Focus makes your next spell free with extra crit, and Mental Strength adds maximum mana. Discipline healers also take Holy talents; Discipline damage builds use Power Infusion on themselves or a mage.

A Discipline healer heals much like a Holy one (a shield on the tank, Flash Heal and Greater Heal) and saves Power Infusion for the raid's best mage or warlock in the burn phase. Improved Power Word: Shield makes shields stronger, and Martyrdom stops your casts being pushed back after you take a critical hit.

Discipline brings less healing than Holy but more raid damage through Power Infusion, and it keeps Divine Spirit for the raid.
