Two raids at the Crusaders' Coliseum, and Onyxia again
Trial of the Crusader and its Heroic version, Trial of the Grand Crusader, are 10- and 25-player raids in the Crusaders' Coliseum at the Argent Tournament. They are five arena challenges in a row: the Northrend Beasts, Lord Jaraxxus, the Faction Champions, the Twin Val'kyr and Anub'arak beneath the arena. The patch notes add that Normal and Heroic share a lockout and that bosses award more emblems and trophies than they first did.
Onyxia's Lair returned as a level-80 raid on the same day. The level-60 version of the encounter stays available through Zidormi.
What the June 20 update added
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Trial of the Champion | A 5-player dungeon: joust against the opposing faction's champions, face the Argent Crusade's champion, then the Black Knight |
| Argent Tournament | A quest hub north of Sindragosa's Fall in Icecrown, with jousting, daily quests and rewards |
| Arena Season 7 | A new PvP season |
| Isle of Conquest | A new 40-vs-40 battleground |
| Defense Protocol Beta | A harder Titan Rune mode whose bosses drop 10-player Ulduar loot |
The final boss of a Defense Protocol Beta dungeon also awards Sidereal Essence, which buys gear from 10-player hard-mode Ulduar at the Animated Constellation vendor in Dalaran. The mode starts from the Mysterious Device at the entrance of a Heroic dungeon.
Planning for the phase
Phase 3 was the first time Wrath Classic offered raid-level gear from three directions at once: the new raids, Defense Protocol Beta in five-player groups, and the Vault of Archavon, where Koralon the Flame Watcher arrived with the patch. Groups that skipped Ulduar's hard modes could still collect its 10-player items through the Titan Rune mode.
The raid guide lists each encounter's abilities and drops, and the 3.4.2 patch notes cover the class changes, including new glyphs.
