Overview

Azuregos is a blue dragon whom Malygos trusted with the blue dragonflight's treasures. He keeps watch over what remains of the Highborne's magic in Azshara and fights to the death to defend it, though he attacks only those who attack him. With a respawn of several days, his post is usually empty.

Location

Southern Azshara, on the high ground above Southridge Beach.

Respawn after a kill: about 2–4 days. Spawn timers are not shown in game.

Abilities

  • Arcane Vacuum

    Pulls everyone within about 30 yards to him and wipes his threat, so the tank has to pick him up again.

  • Reflection

    For 10 seconds, harmful spells cast at him can be reflected back at the caster.

  • Manastorm

    A storm over an area that deals Frost damage and drains mana every second for 10 seconds.

  • Frost Breath

    Frost damage in a cone in front of him that also drains mana and slows.

  • Chill

    Frost damage to nearby players that slows their attacks and movement for 30 seconds.

  • Cleave

    Hits his target and the players standing next to it.

  • Mark of Frost

    Players who die near him are marked for 15 minutes. Coming back while marked gets them frozen in a block of ice.

Tactics

  • Keep the raid at his sides, inside the range of Arcane Vacuum. After each pull, stop all damage and healing for a few seconds until the tank has him again.
  • He is immune to Arcane and highly resistant to Frost. Casters use other schools and hold their spells while Reflection is up.
  • Casters step out of Manastorm and stay out of the cone of Frost Breath.
  • Frost resistance and Frost Protection Potions soften the raid damage.
  • Anyone who dies is out of the fight for 15 minutes because of Mark of Frost, so play safe.
