TBC Anniversary: Zul'Aman Opens October 22, With Badges From Every Raid and No More Attunements
Zul'Aman opens on Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary realms on October 22 at 3:00 p.m. PDT. The same update makes every earlier raid boss drop Badges of Justice, removes the Black Temple and Mount Hyjal attunements, lowers Heroic keys to Honored and moves Heroic dungeons to their final, easier tuning.

Zul'Aman: a 10-player raid with a timer
| Detail | Zul'Aman |
|---|---|
| Opens | October 22 at 3:00 p.m. PDT (23:00 BST) |
| Where | Ghostlands, south of Quel'Thalas |
| Size and level | 10 players, level 70 |
| Bosses | Nalorakk, Akil'zon, Jan'alai, Halazzi, Hex Lord Malacrass and Zul'jin |
| Entry | No attunement; raid lockout resets every 3 days |
Zul'Aman runs against the clock. Zul'jin's lieutenants hold hostages, and the Amani start preparing to execute them as soon as your raid breaks through the gates. Each time you defeat a lieutenant and rescue a hostage, you earn extra loot and more time. Free every hostage in time and your raid earns the rare Amani War Bear mount.
With a 3-day lockout, a group can clear it more than once a week.
Badges of Justice from every raid boss
Badges of Justice start dropping from many more bosses:
- the world bosses Doomlord Kazzak and Doomwalker;
- every boss in Karazhan, Gruul's Lair and Magtheridon's Lair;
- every boss in Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep;
- every boss in Zul'Aman.
G'eras in Shattrath also adds more powerful items to his Badge of Justice rewards, including Nether Vortex. For characters that missed the earlier phases, the Phase 1 and 2 raids now pay out the same currency as Zul'Aman.
Easier access to the endgame
- No more attunements for Black Temple and Mount Hyjal. From October 22, anyone can enter Black Temple and The Battle for Mount Hyjal without the quest chains Phase 3 required.
- Heroic keys at Honored. The reputation needed to buy Heroic dungeon keys drops to Honored, for example the Auchenai Key from Lower City (Auchindoun – Heroic).
- Easier Heroics. All Heroic dungeons move to their final, reduced difficulty.
- World boss loot can be traded. Doomlord Kazzak and Doomwalker drop Bind on Equip loot instead of Bind on Pickup.
The Medallion of Karabor and The Vials of Eternity guides still list each quest chain step by step: Black Temple's chain also leads into the story of Akama and Illidan, even when it's no longer needed to enter.
Epic gems, Nether and new recipes
- Magtheridon's Black Sack of Gems and the Jewelcrafter's Brilliant Glass can now contain epic gems. Brilliant Glasses made earlier and sacks already looted but unopened won't.
- Primal Nether and Nether Vortex are no longer soulbound, so they can be traded and sold.
- Outland faction vendors sell Leatherworking recipes for Greater Drums, Knothide Quiver and Knothide Ammo Pouch.
Before October 22
- Pick ten players and read the Zul'Aman guide; the hostage timer rewards a fast, practiced route.
- Don't save old Black Sacks of Gems: sacks looted before the update can't contain epic gems, even if you open them afterwards.
- Plan alts around badges. Phase 1 and 2 raids, world bosses and Zul'Aman all drop Badges of Justice, and Black Temple no longer needs its attunement.
- Catch up on the phase this replaces: TBC Anniversary Phase 3: Black Temple, Mount Hyjal, Netherwing and Arena Season 3.
