Carry Thieves’ Tools

Keep one toolkit in your bags. It is not consumed. Check your Rogue practice quest for a free set, or buy one from a supplies vendor. Use Pick Lock on the box; opening it with a key does not train Lockpicking.

While practicing

  • Check the lock’s difficulty before opening. Opening requirements are not skill-up guarantees; grey locks do not improve the skill.
  • If progress stops at your level ×5, level your character before continuing. No Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert or Artisan training is needed.
  • World containers can be contested and dungeon enemies dangerous. Take a group where needed. Repeated locks and instance resets follow server rules; this guide does not assume unlimited instant skill gains.
How it works

Suggested practice ranges are combined with client lock requirements and original location references. No exact opening count, skill-up probability, drop rate or hourly leveling speed is assumed. Costs cover one toolkit and a separately labelled training reference. Progress is stored locally, separated by game version and selected Rogue.
