Overview

A burning city split between Scarlet crusaders and the Scourge. The undead route opens the slaughterhouse by clearing three ziggurats, while the Scarlet route ends with Balnazzar.

How to get there

The main gate is in northwestern Eastern Plaguelands. The separate service gate to the east reaches the undead side and requires the Key to the City to open from outside.

Stage at Light's Hope Chapel, then ride northwest. Bring the Argent Dawn Commission if collecting scourgestones.

Horde

Travel from Light's Hope Chapel or across the Plaguelands; agree on main-gate Scarlet or service-gate undead objectives.

No attunement for the main entrance. Magistrate Barthilas drops the Key to the City for the service gate. Individual quests and the timed rescue have their own prerequisites.

  • Avoid supply crates unless prepared for pests or disease, and kill fleeing gargoyles before they bring more enemies.
  • Decide before starting whether this is a timed Baron rescue; optional detours can consume the timer.
