Smart Attack

Requires level 1

Targets the nearest enemy if you need one, then starts auto-attack without ever toggling it off.

GeneralTargetingDPSLevelingChecked against game data

Enter Macro Commands:

/targetenemy [noharm][dead]
/startattack
40/255 Characters Used

What it does

If you have no living enemy targeted, it targets the nearest one, as Tab does. Then it starts auto-attack.

How to use

Press it to start every melee fight. Unlike the Attack button, pressing it again never stops your swings.

Requirements

  • From level 1

Nothing beyond the spells in the macro.

How it works

  1. /targetenemy [noharm][dead]
    • Option 1:Target the nearest enemy (as Tab does)When:It isn't an enemy
    • Option 2:Target the nearest enemy (as Tab does)When:It is dead
  2. /startattack
    • Start auto-attack

Limitations

  • It keeps your current target while that target is an enemy and alive.

Macros by class

How to add a macro in the game
  1. Type /macro in the chat box and press Enter, or open the game menu and choose Macros.
  2. Choose New. Give the macro a name and pick the question-mark icon: with #showtooltip the button then shows the spell it casts.
  3. On this page, choose a macro and press Copy Macro.
  4. Click into the macro window's text box and paste (Ctrl+V, or ⌘V on a Mac).
  5. Drag the macro's icon from the window onto an action bar.

General Macros are shared by all your characters on the account; Character Specific Macros belong to one character. Class macros belong in the character tab.
