How the run goes

Malygos's platform at the top of the Nexus. A three-phase fight: Malygos on the platform, then his Nexus Lords and Scions of Eternity riding hover disks, and finally a fight on the backs of red drakes after he destroys the platform.

Group: Ten or twenty-five players: a tank, healers who can heal while moving, and damage dealers ready to fight from drakes in the last phase.

    • Arcane BreathDeals 18850 to 21150 Arcane damage in a 40 yard cone in front of the caster. 5 sec after being damaged, the affected targets explode with energy, dealing 9425 to 10575 Arcane damage to nearby friends.
    • Arcane StormFires a salvo of magic missiles into the air. These missiles select a random nearby enemy target and slam into them, dealing 9425 to 10575 Arcane damage.
    • Static FieldSummons a field of crackling energy at a random target's location. This field deals 9425 to 10575 Arcane damage per second to all enemies within 30 yards of that location.
    • Power SparkIncreases the target's damage done by 50%, sacrificing the caster in the process.
    • VortexSpins up a whirling vortex of Arcane energy, dealing Arcane damage to all enemies caught inside of it.
    • Surge of PowerFires a beam of pure magic at an enemy, dealing 5000 Arcane damage per second to all surrounding enemies for 5 sec.

    Three phases. On the platform he spins the raid into a Vortex and Power Sparks fly to him; then his Nexus Lords and Scions of Eternity attack from hover discs while he breathes across the platform; finally the platform breaks and the raid fights on red drakes.

    1. Platform: kill the Power Sparks before they reach him (their pools empower players); tank his Arcane Breath away from the raid.
    2. Discs: kill Nexus Lords and Scions; their discs carry players up. When he takes a deep breath, shelter inside the protective bubbles.
    3. Drakes: on red drakes, use the drake's abilities: damage, a shield when targeted and heals for the other drakes.
    Tanks
    Platform phase: hold him away from the raid. Disc phase: pick up the Nexus Lords.
    Healers
    Heal through the Vortex and the disc riders' attacks; on the drakes, use the healing abilities.
    Damage dealers
    Drag sparks away from him and kill them; kill disc riders; on the drakes, keep the damage combo going.

Before you go

  • Kill the Power Sparks away from Malygos to empower the raid instead.
  • Learn the red drake's abilities before the third phase.
  • Level 80. Entry needs the Key to the Focusing Iris (the 10-player key or the 25-player Heroic key), from a quest that starts with Sapphiron's loot in Naxxramas.
